Install Aurelia through the WordPress theme uploader. The theme controls visual presentation and consumes Hotel Booking public contracts; it does not replace the booking plugins.
Before you begin
Verify WordPress 6.5 or later and PHP 8.1 or later. For booking surfaces, keep Hotel Booking Free active. Aurelia supports Hotel Booking Free 3.19.3 or later; the accepted Product 1.0 pair uses Free 3.28.0-rc.7 and Aurelia 1.1.0-rc.8.
Back up the database and the current theme directory. Record the active theme, assigned menus, widgets, homepage and permalink settings.
Install the theme
- Open Appearance → Themes.
- Select Add New Theme, then Upload Theme.
- Choose the trusted Aurelia ZIP.
- Select Install Now.
- Select Activate.
Expected result
The frontend uses Aurelia’s layout and design system. Existing Hotel Booking room, price, availability and booking behavior remains owned by the plugins. The theme can display the Free-owned /rooms/ and /search-availability/ routes without requiring matching WordPress Pages.
Verify
- Open Appearance → Themes and confirm Aurelia
1.1.0-rc.8is active. - Open the homepage,
/rooms/and/search-availability/in a private browser window. - Test the primary menu at desktop and mobile widths.
- If multilingual navigation is enabled, switch language on the homepage and on a Hotel Booking route.
- Start a search and confirm the displayed room, dates and guest count come from Hotel Booking rather than theme sample content.
Recovery
If the theme cannot be activated or a critical page becomes inaccessible, activate the previously recorded theme. Keep Hotel Booking Free and Pro installed. Restoring the previous theme must not require deleting booking data.
Do not import demo content into a production site as a repair step. Demo setup is optional and declarative; review its proposed changes before applying it.
