Aurelia Theme

Compose the homepage and global Hero

Configure Aurelia's editorial homepage and global Hero while keeping booking actions, routes and content owned by Hotel Booking Core.

Aurelia’s homepage is a quiet editorial composition: one clear Hero, generous whitespace, room photography and a restrained booking invitation. The Hero can appear on global and secondary surfaces according to theme configuration, but the theme never invents availability or booking destinations. Hotel Booking supplies canonical room, search and action data; Aurelia decides hierarchy, cropping, type scale and motion.

Configure the composition

  1. Open Appearance → Customize → Aurelia and set the Hero image, focal point, eyebrow, title, description and two action labels.
  2. Use the public URL fields for the primary and secondary actions. In a multilingual site, enter the localized route for each language rather than a hard-coded rooms host or an English-only path.
  3. Keep one primary action, one secondary action and one readable paragraph. Remove duplicated numbering or decorative labels that compete with the title.
  4. Preview the homepage, a generic page and the Rooms route at 320, 768 and 1440 pixels. The Hero image should preserve its focal subject without horizontal overflow.

The homepage motion is intentionally slow: the image may use a small scroll-linked depth shift, text reveals once, and prefers-reduced-motion disables both. Without JavaScript, the Hero, links and booking form remain readable and usable. If a CTA points to a missing route, repair the WordPress page or Core URL helper; do not add route logic to the theme.

Next: configure menus, language switcher and secondary pages.
